Hornetsecurity is the leading German email cloud security provider in Europe, which protects the IT infrastructure, digital communication and data.

After acquiring Spamina, the Spanish market leader for cloud email security solutions in January 2019 and EveryCloud, the British market partner, at the beginning of 2020; Hornetsecurity is now delivering a new product segment that complements its services—reliable backup solutions.

ALTARO acquisition (in January 2021) contributes towards Hornetsecurity strategic goal – becoming a fully comprehensive security provider for Microsoft 365.

The combined capabilities of the two companies will result in more powerful offerings for organizations around the world. Altaro creates backup solutions for Hyper-V, VMware, physical servers, network endpoints, and Microsoft Office 365. These features complement Hornetsecurity’s email and compliance solutions, especially in the sphere of Microsoft 365 environments (solutionsreview.com).

Daniel Hofmann, CEO of Hornetsecurity said: “Our goal is to provide organizations with a complete security and compliance solution for their cloud technologies. By integrating Altaro’s backup solutions into Hornetsecurity’s product portfolio, we can provide a comprehensive package to protect customer data.”(hornetsecurity.com)

David Vella, CEO of Altaro, added: “We have found exactly the right strategic buyer in Hornetsecurity and are delighted to become part of the group. The synergies between the two companies are obvious, and with the combination of know-how and experience as well as the innovative combination of products, Hornetsecurity’s European market leadership in cloud security reaches a new level.“(altaro.com)

Stephen Chetcuti Bonavita is Altaro‘s co-founder and chief commercial officer explained: “Partners who sell backup solutions also typically sell email security solutions; It would be more convenient for a partner to get both types of offerings from a single vendor. By joining forces through this acquisition, Hornetsecurity and Altaro will now be in a position to meet that need.” (channelfutures.com)
